How long do the results of the EMSculpt NEO® last? Are the results of permanent?​

When EMSculpt NEO®  kills fat cells they are permanently removed. If you gain wait nearby fat cells can be recruited to grow however, so we recommend that people watch their diets and exercise.  When it grows muscle, like any muscle growth from exercise how long it lasts depends on your activity level, diet, and physiology. For best results, get touch up treatments in the Medical Gym at Pacific Beach Med Spa.

HOW DOES THE EMSCULPT NEO COMPARE WITH OTHER BODY SCULPTING PROCEDURES?

EMSculpt NEO® vs. EmSculpt Classic​

EMSculpt NEO® is the next generation medical device released in the fall of 2020. EMSculpt NEO® increases muscle mass by 25% and as a bonus causes the 30% reduction of fat thickness in the treated area. It also uses a newer propriatary muscle contraction algorithm for better results in terms of muscle building. The older EMSculpt only increases muscle mass by only 16%.

EMSculpt NEO® vs. CoolSculpting​

EMSculpt NEO® is the next generation medical device released in the fall of 2020. EMSculpt NEO increases muscle mass by 25% and as a bonus causes the 30% reduction of fat thickness in the treated area. The older CoolSculpting only removes about 25% fat. It does noting to tone or build muscles, or improve core strength and cannot build muscle. For those worried about building muscle in areas such as the buttocks or calves without burning fat, EMSculpt NEO can build muscle without burning fat by simply adjusting controls or using a the EMSculpt Classic applicators.​​

EMSculpt NEO® vs. CoolTone

EMSculpt NEO® is the next generation medical device released in the fall of 2020. EMSculpt NEO® increases muscle mass by 25% and as a bonus causes the 30% reduction of fat thickness in the treated area. The older Cooltone does not reduce fat (you would need a separate device to do that). Cooltone claims to have higher magnetic intensity compared to EMSculpt NEO. However, CoolTone has not to our knowledge shown that this increased intensity produces  better results. Treatment areas: Emsculpt is FDA cleared to treat more areas then CoolTone.

EMSculpt NEO® vs. SculpSure​

EMSculpt NEO® is the next generation medical device released in the fall of 2020. EMSculpt NEO® increases muscle mass by 25%, and, as a bonus causes a 30% reduction of fat thickness in the treated area. The older SculpSure uses targeted heat with lasers to reduce fat by 25% but is not able to build muscle.​

EMSculpt NEO® vs. Liposuction, CoolSculpting vs Liposuction, CoolTone vs Liposuction​

Liposuction is an invasive procedure that can remove up to 5 litters, or about 11 pounds, of fat in one treatment, far more than non-invasive body sculpting. It can sculpt the body by removing fat but does not build muscle. Liposuction can also be used to harvest fat for replantation in other areas of the body, but not all fat replanted survives. Liposuction also usually requires general anesthesia, leaves scars and has a prolonged recovery with down time, can be associated with bleeding, infections, and pain. Risks that the non-invasive body sculpting does not have.

EMSculpt NEO® vs. Vanquish ​

EMSculpt NEO is the next generation released in the fall of 2020. EMSculpt NEO increases muscle mass by 25% and as a bonus causes the 30% reduction of fat thickness in the treated area. The older Vanquish uses high-frequency energy field to kill fat cells. Like EMSculpt NEO it heats the treatment area to deliver fat reduction. Vanquish does not build muscle and targets less effectively as the applicator is not in direct contact with the skin.​​

EMSculpt NEO® vs. BodyTite ​

Like liposuction but less invasive, BodyTite is a minimally invasive body contouring procedure. It uses a Radio-frequency wand that is placed inside the body like a liposuction wand. Except it is thinner and is heated to 80º centigrade. Such heat kills fat cells on contact. It not only kills fat cells but contracts skin tissue above the fat. It is a less invasive option than liposuction but cannot remove the same volume of fat as can liposuction, but is still invasive and associated with downtime and skin entry risks. It has the advantage of decreased  risk as it is not done with general anesthesia and has a shorter recovery time. BodyTite is ideal for rapidly removing small troublesome areas with less down time and pain than liposuction, but it is still invasive as it involves a Radio-frequency probe that goes inside your body during treatment.​

EMSculpt NEO® vs. INMode Evolve

EMSculpt NEO® is the next generation medical device released in the fall of 2020. EMSculpt NEO increases muscle mass by 25% and as a bonus causes the 30% reduction of fat thickness in the treated area. The Older Evolve by INMode has two separate applicator heads that are used sequentially (not at the same time) that TRIM and TONE and we understand  are not FDA cleared to build muscle.  Tone works by emitting electrical muscle stimulation (EMS) to simulate muscle contractions. It can refine the appearance of muscles but the company makes no claim as to the increase of thickness but does not cause the same degree of supra-maximal muscle contraction that an EMSculpt NEO can cause. The Trim treatment heads use Radio-frequency energy to heat fat cells and cause their demise. The manufacturer does claims fat is decreased by 30% in the treatment area but makes no claim as to the amount of muscle increase, but does indicate that it increases skin tightness by 13.7% and improves cellulite by one grade.

Can you make EMSculpt NEO® results BETTER?​

Yes! we can improve EMSculpt NEO® results using Alastin® Skincare TriHex Technology®. Peptides in patent-pending LipoDRONE™ delivery system help to speed the natural removal process of fat cells that have been broken down by EMSculpt NEO® and helps support production of healthy new collagen and elastin. Furthermore, if indicated, we can tighten treatment areas with the Venus Versa® radio-frequency skin tightening to give  you the BEST possible result without risk of Paradoxical Adipose Hyperplasia.

Which is better? EMSculpt NEO® vs. Venus Versa®, and EMSculpt NEO® vs. Venus Freeze®?

EMSculpt NEO® is the next generation medical device released in the fall of 2020. EMSculpt NEO increases muscle mass by 25% and as a bonus causes the 30% reduction of fat thickness in the treated area. Venus Freeze and Venus Versa cannot build muscle and are not FDA cleared to reduce fat. They do work to tighten skin of the face and body and uses radiofrequency technology that comfortably and effectively reduces cellulite, treats wrinkles, and tightens skin. Although both EMSculpt NEO® and Venus Versa® and Freeze use Radiofreqency energy, the Versa and Freeze focuses the Radiofreqency energy in a more shallow plane to tighten skin rather than to destroy deep fat.

At Pacific Beach Med Spa under the direction of non-surgical body sculpting expert Jerry Thrush, MD, we use both EMSculpt NEO® for fat reduction and muscle growth as well as EMTone body tightening and Venus Versa® face and body tightening to tighten superficial loose skin. We often use them together depending on the patient's  exam and goals. That is why for cellulite treatment, we do an individualized evaluation but may recommend either or both Venus Versa or Qwo® injections for optimal results.

Medical Conditions that play a role in non-invasive body sculpting decisions to treat​ patients with implanted electrical devices such as pacemakers, drug pumps, cochlear implants or metal implants in the treatment area such as metal rods or joint replacements or metal IUDs should not have Emsculpt or Emsculpt NEO or CoolTone. Additionally, people with hernia repairs with mesh should not be treated with Emsculpt, EMSculpt NEO, or CoolTone.  Patients with Raynaud’s Disease should not have CoolSculpting as it can cause abnormal blood vessel constriction in the treatment area. People who have medical conditions that cause anesthesia to be dangerous, do not want long down time, have bleeding disorders, or do not wish small scars should not have liposuction. Likewise persons with metal in the treatment area or implanted electronic medical devices should not have BodyTite.
